For my first night picture I used our annual hunting trip, and Jake's big kill.  I set the picture up by using my trucks headlights to keep Jake and his deer in focus and try to keep everything else out of focus or in the dark.  I ended up moving the truck many times to get the light more focused on just Jake and his deer.  Being that it was something like -15 out it was an adventure to get a good shot.  I took a few and looked at them and took a few more.  The picture presented is the best one in my opinion because it has some snow falling in it, but yet it isn't to distracting.

For my second night picture I took a picture on the rims above Billings.  This picture I took a little while back using my friends camera and a tirpod.  It turned out really good I feel because I was trying to get the stationary lights in focus while making the moving lights blurry.  For the most part I believe this picture captures that.  I took many more, but for some reason this is the only one that really turned out the way I wanted.  It is a pretty good view from the rims and even better at night and I think I captured that.

For my portrait I used my nephew Tru.  He was the center piece of Thanksgiving for our family.  To get his picture took a lot of time and even more patience, but I feel this picture turned out good for a couple reasons.  To get himn to sit still and look at the camera we tried many things, such as the water bottle in the picture.  After fighting back and forth we gave up on getting a picture without something in his hands.  I like the water bottle in it now because it kind of fits, if you know how hard it is to take pictures of little kids.  Besides that I believe the focus is good and his expression is priceless.

For my social commentary, i used the new distracted driving ordinance in Billings.  I looked at this many different ways, but decided to take a picture of someone acting like they are driving and talking on the cell phone.  The pictures all came out good, but I didn't know where I was going with it so I looked up headlines in the Billings gazette and put up a quote to add to the picture.  The focus and the picture turned out good I think, but I'm not entirely satisfied with my overall goal.  I used the paint brush to take out the background, to lessen the distractions, but it kind of makes it look made-up.  Overall the hardest picture for me.

For my mysterical I am using my picture of the blue flame.  I set the picture up by using a bar stool and a blow torch.  I got the room as dark as I could and lit the torch and set it on the bar stool.  I took many pictures trying to get that clean look, but then this picture came out of all of it.  Im not entirely sure how it happened but I love the way it looks.  I spent some time in photo shop changing it many different ways, but overall I liked it best basically right out of the camera, just croped down a little.  I really like this picture and think it turned out great.
